Problem Note 36746: SAS® datetime variables might generate incorrect results when used as the input column to supplied time hierarchies
The Dimension Designer in SAS® OLAP Cube Studio and SAS® Data Integration Studio provides the ability to create pre-defined time hierarchies based on a single column of input. Although this functionality works only with SAS date variables, the drop-down list for selecting the input column currently enables you to select a SAS datetime variable.
If you select a datetime variable, the cube will display either asterisks (***) or incorrect data. As a workaround, you can modify the formats that are used to define the hierarchy so that they use the appropriate datetime versions. For example, specify DTYEAR4. instead of YEAR4.
